What it does

The material your message designates is ingested, and its headlines — structure, key claims, glossary — are distilled into the agent's knowledge base: a durable store of subject knowledge, distinct from its memory of you. The reply confirms the corpus and the coverage actually ingested.

The registry's own words: Skim study: ingest the designated material and distill its headlines — structure, key claims, glossary — into the knowledge base. Confirms the corpus and the coverage actually ingested.

Fire it — usage examples

“Here are the three manuals for the new truck. learn:quick”

→ the manuals are skimmed structure-first, the headlines land in the knowledge base, and the reply confirms what was covered.

“Get the gist of this report into your knowledge. learn:quick”

→ the report is ingested and distilled; a later answer drawn from it says it rests on the learned base.

Said aloud: “Lingo, learn quick — the manuals.”

→ the skim study runs and is confirmed: corpus, coverage.

Spoken. Inside a marked span opened by the wake word “Lingo”, the spoken form is “learn quick”. Dictated directives fire deliberately, never by accident.

What the agent actually does

The pipeline runs: designate the corpus, ingest it with a coverage ledger, distill the headlines, store them in the knowledge base tagged with their source, and confirm. Learning here is ingest and distillation — never weight training, and never claimed to be.

The baseline procedure, its edge cases, and this directive's full guide live in the implementation guide: implementation/IMPLEMENTATION.md#cmd-learn-quick ↗.

When the host can't

No knowledge-base store: session-only learning, disclosed in the reply — the distillation is held for the session and its loss at session end is stated. Material that cannot be reached: ingest what is reachable, name what was not, and report coverage over the reachable part only.

Conformance — “done when”

The distillation is in the knowledge base (or the session-only fallback is disclosed), and the confirmation states the corpus and the coverage achieved.

Persistence class: content-write. Execution report in the reply: required. A user can test any of this by hand — fire the directive, then check the result against the store, the schedule, or the reply itself.
